Once upon a time in the not too distant future, the RONA continues wreaking havoc through major metropolitan American cities. New York remains the world wide epicenter of the global spread of the deadly virus to the point that bodies are being shipped to open waters and dumped daily.
Two months after stay-at-home orders were issued, they were slowly eased on as the human population accepted a new-normal life style of social distanced interactions as the virus continued consuming lives at its standard rate. People generally didn’t notice the subtle gradual loss of population because their interactions were limited and nobody really cared about anybody else as much as they acted like they did anyways. But as the bodies started filling the ocean day after day, something did notice. At the bottom of the ocean, deep in the murky waters, it slept. The hibernating beast caught taste of the foul funk of the decaying infected to awake in a rage.
