I’m a bit of a completionist. Call it a form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (or just my toxic trait). There is just something therapeutic about seeing something through till the end. No matter how bad. I fell short on my semi-final game at Dice Tower West’s WSBG Qualifier of Ark Nova by a single Conservation Point, but found satisfaction with a fully completed zoo. I’m sure Matt Damon would be proud.
Games guarantee resolution no matter how climatic the ending. The ‘What If’s?’ are finally answered. The debates are ended. Some still may never accept the results, but it is what it is, as the Blessed One would say.
At the end of any war, both sides inevitably have to rebuild. At the end of any game, all must adjust from what was learned. The evolution of life teaches survival through adaptation. Mufasa taught Simba about the circle of life. Life comes to an end, as games do, yet death fuels rebirth. So, play till the brutal burial everytime & be crowned King of the PrideLand or King of New York (pictured).
